Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I use Maintenance Oil Diamond Active?

Maintenance Oil Diamond Active can be used as a maintenance coat on floors that have been treated with Diamond Oil Active, Master Color Oil or prefinished floors that recommend WOCA oil maintenance products. Refer to the flooring manufacturer for specific product recommendations.

Do I need to sand before applying Maintenance Oil Diamond Active?

No. The deep cleaning process using Intensive Wood Cleaner, followed by a machine-polished application of Maintenance Oil Diamond Active, effectively tackles most scratches, stains, and discoloration. This method employs oil application, a polishing pad, and the machine's weight, heat, and motion to achieve the best results.

Do I need to apply Maintenance Oil Diamond Active on the entire floor?

Not necessarily. A WOCA oiled floor doesn't require a complete refinishing of the floor. You can re-oil only the specific areas that need attention, and it should blend seamlessly.

What’s the difference between Maintenance Oil Diamond Active and Diamond Oil Active?

Maintenance Oil Diamond Active has a lower solid content, dries faster and cures faster than Diamond Oil Active. Maintenance Oil Diamond Active cures in 3 days and Diamond Oil Active cures in 7 days.

Which color of Maintenance Oil Diamond Active should I use?

Maintenance Oil Diamond Active is available in Natural and White. If your floor is dark, golden, or brown, use Natural. If your floor is white, grey or a light natural tone, use White. If your floor has lost a lot of its original color, use the original WOCA color that was used on your floor initially. If you are unsure which color to use, email photos of your floor to info@wocawoodcare.com and we can help with a color recommendation.

Can I skip the Intensive Wood Cleaner step before using Maintenance Oil Diamond Active?

No. Using Intensive Wood Cleaner before using WOCA Maintenance Oil Diamond Active deep cleans, opens the wood pores to accept more oil and neutralizes surface tannin which helps prevent water stains.

How many coats of Maintenance Oil Diamond Active should be applied.

1 coat of WOCA Maintenance Oil Diamond Active for maintenance is enough. If the wood is reclaimed or extremely dry, a 2nd coat may be necessary.

Do I have to use a floor polisher to apply Maintenance Oil Diamond Active?

For best results and efficiency, we recommend using a floor buffer/polisher. If you have less than 500 square feet, you can use the Maintenance Oil Kit with Doodlebug. Small areas can be done by hand.

I’ve applied the Maintenance Oil Diamond Active and it won’t dry.

There is too much oil left on the surface. Buff the surface again with a white pad to remove the excess oil.
