PRODUCT INFORMATION

WOCA Master Color Oil provides color and an oil finish in one step. It penetrates and hardens deep inside the wood.  As a result, wood floors become stronger and better withstand wear. Master Color Oil contains fine pigments in eleven different colors, which can be mixed to create a custom color.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Master Color Oil Application Instructions

It is recommended to use a floor buffer for the oil application. Recommended wood moisture maximum - 12%. The oiling should be done at a minimum temperature of 60º F.

  1. Unfinished flooring or wood should be freshly sanded with grit 100-120. Prep the wood surface with a solution of 1/4 cup Intensive Wood Cleaner per gallon of water. Leave the floor to dry for at least 4-6 hours before applying the oil. This step is not optional.
  2. Shake the container of Color Oil well before and during application.
  3. Apply the oil in an even coat with the WOCA Oil Applicator or a low nap paint roller onto an area of 100-200 sq. ft.
  4. Let the floor absorb the oil for 20 minutes. Work the oil into the wood with a red pad, either manually, or for large areas with a buffer. Polish until the floor appears saturated with oil.
  5. Buff off the excess oil with a polishing cloth under a clean buffing pad. The floor should not appear wet, and no excess oil should be left on the surface after polishing.  Move on to the next section of flooring and repeat step 2-5.
  6. After 6-12 hours, apply the second coat of Master Color Oil.  In sections of 50-100 sf, pour 3 ounces of Master Color Oil directly on the floor and immediately start polishing in the oil with the buffer with a white pad attached.
  7. Buff off the excess oil with a polishing cloth under a clean buffing pad. The floor should not appear wet, and no excess oil should be left on the surface after polishing. Move on to the next section of flooring and repeat step 6-7.
  8. The floor can be used with caution after 24 hours. Full cure is 7 days in ideal conditions.
2 coats are better than 1 for durability. Softwood species like Pine, distressed, and reclaimed wood always need 2 coats, maybe 3 depending on how much oil the wood absorbs. After 7 days the floor can be cleaned with WOCA Natural Soap, which gives the surface extra protection.

FAQ's

What is the difference between Master Color Oil and Diamond Oil Active?

Both Master Color Oil and Diamond Oil Active are penetrating oils. They are both made with the highest quality of natural ingredients. Master Color Oil is intended for use for normal wear and tear in residential use. Diamond Oil Active is extremely durable and is most often used in high traffic, or commercial applications.

How do I know what color to choose?

The color swatches displayed are meant to give you a basic idea of the finished product, but because of settings and color adjustments on individual computer monitors and hand-held devices, and different reactions from various woods, the color on your wood may or may not be achieved exactly as shown in the color swatches. We recommend that you use a color tester on the wood that you are going to finish in an inconspicuous area to ensure that you achieve your desired end result. Our testers include FREE GROUND SHIPPING in the Greater United States.

Is staining needed with WOCA Color Oil?

No staining is needed with WOCA Color Oil, as the color and finish is done in one step.
