Frequently Asked Questions

The sheen on my oil finished surface is dull, can I make it more shiny?

All WOCA Oils have a matte sheen. To achieve a satin sheen polish in the 2nd coat with patina discs or apply Maintenance Gel as the 2nd coat.

What surfaces can WOCA Maintenance Gel be used on?

WOCA Maintenance Gel can be used on indoor oiled wood surfaces. It can be used on floors, furniture, kitchen counter tops, tables, butcher block surfaces and factory-oiled or UV oiled surfaces.

How do I apply WOCA Maintenance Gel?

WOCA Maintenance Gel can be applied by hand with a polishing pad or polishing cloth, or by buffer machine.

Will Maintenance Gel make my floor sippery?

WOCA Maintenance Gel will not make your floor slippery as long as all the excess gel has been polished off per the application instructions.

The wood surface is sticky and not drying after using the Maintenance Gel. What should I do?

If your wood surface is not drying and is sticky, too much Maintenance Gel was applied and not polished off properly. Using a red or white polishing pad, polish off the excess gel from the surface. Refresh polishing pads as the gel accumulates and keep polishing until it is gone from the surface. Do a final polish with a dry white pad to even out the sheen.

Should I clean first with the Natural Soap before applying the Maintenance Gel?

No, Natural Soap is not a prep cleaner for Maintenance Gel.  Clean with Intensive Wood Cleaner before applying Maintenance Gel or Oil.
