Application instructions:

  1. Clean the wood surface with WOCA Exterior Cleaner before applying the oil.
The Exterior Wood Cleaner enhances durability by opening wood pores for deeper oil absorption, strengthening and hardening the wood for a longer surface lifespan between maintenance coats.
  2. Leave the wood to dry for at least 24 hours. The moisture content of the wood should not be above 17%.
  3. Sand down any rough wood fibers with 120 grit sandpaper.
  4. Apply WOCA Exterior Oil in dry weather only. Temperature should not be below 55°F. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures.
  5. Stir the oil thoroughly before use.  Apply an even and thin coat of oil using an oil applicator , brush or paint roller. Treat the end grain wood first. The wet oil may have a white shade. When the water has evaporated after a few minutes, the wood will appear oiled.
  6. Wipe off any excess oil with clean cotton cloths after no more than 5 minutes.
  7. If the surface does not appear saturated with oil, repeat steps 5 and 7.
  8. When the wood is dry, it may be polished with a polishing pad or polishing machine to ensure an extra hard-wearing surface.
  9. It takes 48 hours for the oil to harden thoroughly, depending on weather conditions and outdoor temperature.  Do not expose wood to water during this period.

Pro Tip: Before applying an oil finish on exotic wood species, it's crucial to use WOCA Exterior Cleaner. Tropical woods are naturally oily, which can prevent the wood finish from penetrating or adhering properly.

FAQ's

How often should I use Natural Soap?

Natural Soap can be used on a regular basis, approximately once every week or two, depending on your floors traffic.

What types of floors can Natural Soap be used on?

WOCA Natural Soap is for the routine cleaning of oiled wood floors. If your floors are not oil finished, like tile, vinyl, laminate or lacquer, then use one of our cleaners for non-oiled surfaces.

Should I choose "Natural" or "White" Natural Soap and Oil Refreshing Soap?

If your floors are white to light gray, choose "White". Choose "Natural" for all other wood floor colors.

What is the difference between Natural Soap and Oil Refreshing Soap

Natural Soap and Oil Refreshing Soap are designed to go hand in hand. Both products clean floors while depositing additional oil, to protect the oil finish and make the floors easier to keep clean and maintain. Oil Refresher should only be used 3 to 4 times per year. Natural Soap can be used on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

How often should I use Oil Refreshing Soap?

Oil Refreshing Soap is meant to be used every 3-4 months. It provides additional oil that penetrates the wood and reinforces the existing oil finish.
