US Floors - Maintenance and Care
Oil-finished hardwood floors by US Floors differ in appearance from traditional UV or polyurethane finishes. With regular soap applications and maintenance oil, these floors improve over time, developing a rich patina as they age.
Cleaning And Regular Maintenance
Re-Oiling Maintenance (~5 years)
Maintenance Re-Oiling Coverage Rates:
- Maintenance Oil Diamond Active ~ 1075-1350 sq/ft per 2.5 liter can
- Master Color Oil ~ 1125-1250 sq/ft per 2.5 liter can
Maintenance Re-Oiling Instructions
- Damp mop with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner using 3 ounces per gallon of lukewarm water. Let the floor dry completely.
- Shake oil container well before and during use.
- Apply approx. 1-2 ounces per 40-50 sq. ft. onto the floor and polish oil by hand or with floor machine and white floor pad.
- It is important that the Maintenance Oil Diamond Oil Active or Master Color Oil is carefully polished into the wood. Continue polishing until the wood appears saturated and the surface looks uniform.
- Polish off all excess oil from floor using cotton cloths under the pad before proceeding with the next section of floor to be finished. Hand wipe all edges and corners. The floor should not appear wet and no excess oil should be left on the surface.
- When using a floor machine the oil will be pre-hardened after approx. 4 hours and may be cautiously taken into use. Manually polished floors after 24 hours.
Maintenance Oil Diamond Active
- Do not expose floor or woodwork to water during hardening time of 24 hours.
- After 3 days the floor may be treated with WOCA Soap to provide additional protection against wear and tear.
- Do not expose floor or woodwork to water during hardening time of 7 days.
- After 7 days the floor may be treated with WOCA Soap to provide additional protection against wear and tear.
