WOCA Wood Lye Product Information
Application Instructions
Preparation:
WOCA Wood Lye (Grey or White) is used for lye priming of unfinished or newly sanded interior woodwork i.e., floors, stairs, furniture, and panels. The priming minimizes the wood from yellowing and enhances the wood grain, creating a color wash effect. Wood Lye may be used on all types of wood.
Work Instructions:
1. Damp mop the floor with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner (see separate instructions). Let the floor dry completely.
2. Apply the lye undiluted with a paint roller in an even coat on the floor, following the wood grain. Let dry overnight.
3. Apply at least one liter of lye for every 100 sq.ft. of floor or woodwork.
4. On vertical wood surfaces, apply from top to bottom.
5. Rinse tools in clean water.
6. When the wood is dry, remove any visible lime pigments from the surface. This is best done using a green buffing pad under a standard floor buffer. Vacuum surface clean.
7. Finish the floor or woodwork with WOCA Master Color Oil or WOCA Diamond Active Oil.
