WOCA Maintenance Paste Details
WOCA Maintenance Paste is for the re-freshening and maintenance of oiled wood floors. The Maintenance Paste is also especially suitable for UV-oiled floors.
After a floor is oiled, WOCA Maintenance Paste should be buffed into the wood. The final buffing gives a hard-wearing surface and added protection. Buffing can be done by hand or with a polishing machine.
Oiled floors should be maintained regularly – normally once a year, but more often when it comes to floors exposed to extremely hard wear. The maintenance does not be done at once. It can be done partially in sections if desired.
How To Apply WOCA Maintenance Paste
Before a new oiled floor is used, it is recommended to buff it with a coat of Maintenance Paste. The application gives a hard-wearing surface. Oiled floors should be maintained periodically depending on wear. Floors that are exposed to extremely hard wear should be maintained often.
- Clean the floor with a solution of 1/4 cup Wood Cleaner per gallon of water. Leave the floor to thoroughly dry. The floor must be completely dry before the paste application.
- Buff a thin coat of Maintenance Paste onto 100 s.f. of the floor at a time with white polishing pad.
- Make sure that the Maintenance Paste is polished uniformly into the wood. Buffing continues until the wood appears saturated and silk-mat. Apply more paste if necessary. Polish again with cloths under a white pad to remove any excess paste.
- If a more lustrous finish is desired, polish the area again with a white pad. Continue until the whole floor is coated. Let the surface rest for 6 hours before allowing foot traffic. Do not expose the floor to water for 48 hours after finishing.
Risk of self-ignition! Due to the risk of self-ignition it is important that sanding dust and oil wetted cloths are soaked in water and disposed of in a tightly closed container after use.
